Hope a cork or two was killed in celebration - what better way to recover from the Fla. trip, eh?
Below, more tri-related material, fodder for a blogsperiment. Checking out the blogger video capability. This kind of thing happens when one goes into taper mode, dialing back workouts leaves time to kill.
First a couple of static shots.
More taperitis, adding homemade wheel decals to the get up. Not sure if they're keepers.
Today was a test-the-race-kit ride. Make sure tires hold air, gears shift smoothly and such. Aerodynamic wheels, helmet, jersey, yada yada. Pic is taken on the hamster wheel, er, in the "speed lab," after a 2hr ride in Rock Creek Park. Speed lab in the same sense that the fine "wood" panelling you see actually came from a tree. I swear my legs aren't actually that skinny, hmmm, must be the angle, yeah.
Hold the phone. After further consideration, I have a new calling. I'm going into leg modeling, my sticks are fabulous. Man legs or chick legs? you ask, go ahead you make the call wiseacre, and keep it to yourself. This particular 140lb ball of Irish fury races in the male division.
And now, about 30 secs of the blue hamster churning...
Like how the rear wheel appearance changes when spinning?
Alert - Tour de France just a week away now. Like I needed to remind anyone. It could be interesting, maybe even dope-free. It starts in the UK this year, a rarity.
What the heck one more addition.
Pretty nice time of year - summer temps, tri/du racing in full swing, blueberries, MLB heating up, Wimbeldon, the Tour...
Gas down to about $3.10 for the cheap stuff after peaking in the upper $3.30's
Recommended podcasts: WNYC's Radio Lab, Fair Game with Faith Salie (PRI).
Hope all are well.
